If you are cutting yourself and someone calls the police, the police officer can then legally (and without your permission) have you Baker Acted and you will be put in a facility for tests and observation for 72 hours minimum. If a family member is very concerned they can seek intervention from a judge who can order you into a facility. You don't want something like that on your record because it will ruin your life. You speak like an addict. You are doing something that you know is wrong, that isn't socially acceptable, that rational people would not do, and you have made an excuse in your head in defense of it. You need to seek counseling and figure out why you're cutting yourself and put an end to it.
