Wouldn't you agree that the US has always through history been portrayed in a negative light?

I love America, and I'm proud to be an American. I think due to the corruption, and greed of some people in our government, and the wars of today, we've been given a negative portrayal by other countries throughout history. Not all Americans are snobby, fat, racist, or sexist fools. It's one thing to be take pride in who you are, and quite another to be cocky. The true American is willing to work hard. Even though we have done a lot of bad thing, we also did some good things as well as with anyone of any country. What's with the hate, and stereotyping?!
